It's been awhile

Hey,

I know it has been way too long since the last blog post.  In a sense, I felt this was pointless unless I was directing at someone.  One of my close friends asked when I would ever post again.  It created another existential crises.  If one screams into the void is there anyone else to hear it?  If it is heard, is there a point?  In many ways, people from all walks of life attend to this problem when content to release themselves from ignorant bliss back to panic.  In many ways it feels like people in general live in a state of fear that way, but thats another conversation all together.

In my journeys, I have gotten from trying to adventure, question the point of adventure, and then taking a look inwards to find a solution to a slight despair that occurs when one is lost.  Of course, many of us are lost, trying to find ways to solve every problem, check everything off the bucket list and die knowing that we did all we could do with the time given.   That could mean anything from having kids, striving to do something artistic, going on adventures, finding home, having a STEM career to just having a tortoise walk around a huge house.  We all have needs that way.  It happens.

So far, I have noticed that as a doomed Jedi, I must strive to help others while I am capable of doing so.  I see no point in backing down that.  There is truth that even when screaming into the void you will hear nothing back, but I still sense hope in trying for the most part.  When there is nothing to live for or lose, one can do anything.  It's a kind of backward thinking in a way.  I guess, when one enters the void, one release can release themselves to the possibilities.

I will come again soon, and I will post more over time.

I am sorry.

Picnic Day

Davis holds an annual holiday called Picnic day in which festivities occur within UC Davis and is amplified throughout the town.  Every Picnic Day starts bright and early at 9 am with a parade and subsequent other events throughout the day until mid-day, where the parties start until people pass out one way or another.  It's an excuse for binge-drinking, many taking shots in the morning to satisfy the need to follow college/ Picnic Day traditions.  I am not much of a drinker, but so instead of mimosas...I had orange juice.  Most people that usually follow picnic day, due so by spiking every kind of drink imaginable, but for some reason, I just don't think there is a real point in disturbing a drink with something that deletes the taste I expect.

Maybe it's just me, but there has been a significant point where the need to get drunk is significantly decreased in comparison for the need to taste completely.  This is not saying I did not drink on this day, I did, but it's usually because of either peer pressure or another significant event, a depressing one.  Truthfully, that is one of my biggest issues I guess I have with drinking.  It's probably more often that drinking has gained a negative connotation has has had negative reinforcement throughout my time in college through significant events and from friends.  Drinking has never been a time in which happiness is there, but always a background to a slight sadness.  Drinking to socialize is okay, but drinking to get drunk is for the most part never a fun part of it.  Maybe I'm not having the "correct fun" required when drinking, but for me, I think that if you can't have fun without drinking doing what you are doing, then it is not truly fun.  This logic can be used to define what is of significance to one, and has for me in many situations.  I'm not saying my opinion on this subject is vast.  I am inexperienced with life, and its happenstances, and I do not know what to make of it.  I'm not a person though who likes to act out from substance, but likes to act out due to personal insanity, which is completely fine.

Meh, these issues of drinking is complicated because I too had a slight drinking problem previously.  I drank mainly to repress depression and aid in insomnia.  For the most part, it didn't work, and it was horribly depressing.  In any case, alcohol can help catalyze ease in introduction or dancing, but should not be used as a crutch for either.

Broken Promises and The Weeks so far

Okay...this is a heads up on how my reddit fast is going.  Mother of god...its actually not bad.  However, the only reason again is that I have been readjusting to youtube and facebook.  Again...however, those are starting to lose their spark.  I have noticed that slowly the originality I found in going on youtube after researching on reddit, is now gone.  The way youtube is formatted made it so that actually trying to find new things on the net is nearly impossible because youtube only uses subscriptions to make sure you only focus on what you normally go on.  However, this is one of the limitations of web searching.
There is a point where once you settled, there is a layer that starts forming around your experience.  This layer is mainly dictated by what you once searched for during your stay and gradually evolves once you search enough, but the early sediments are very stable, and very geared to one side.  In many ways, it is extremely annoying, and makes me yearn to try to learn more, but alas I am slightly stuck on certain things.   I can't tell whether it's because I have gotten so much in, or that I'm jsut not looking in the right places.
Now, I'm counting the days until June 15th, where I delete my facebook and stop going on youtube.  Sadly I must confess that I broke one of the rule..and as of now I will try to continue on strong.  Admittedly it gives off a few more questions that I didn't expect, but it delves into how one can limit one's sexual needs in response to what is happening.   Truth Trying to find a way to realize the Jedi in my is something I must practice to try to be a better person overall.  Overall, sexual needs kind of suck even though it's awesome at the same time....The days are counting...TIME TO BE STRONG.

Phone Culture and Groupings

Lately, I believe everyone has noticed that people go on their phone all the time.  Whether it's because they are bored, they are expecting something, someone is expecting something of them, something is happening, all of it is combined to form this amalgam of added pressure to check and reassure oneself using their phone.   In many cases, it's a reassurance of being part of a collective that forces oneself to check their phone/smart-phone on the daily.  However, if you are already part of a collective, there is a moment of slight awkwardness when you check your phone during an outing with a group of friends.  Especially at a bar, it is quite the embarrassment and quite a show of disregard because it proves that whatever conversation or happening on text is more important than the physical being.  One bar decided to try to end that streak by creating a pint glass that has a small divot on the bottom side of the glass that enables one to insert his/her phone into it.  Thereby, the phone acts as a third stool leg so that the glass does not tip over.  Of course, they literally carve the divot into the glass, so I believe they only wish to attack Iphone users as though android users are immaculate in their usage of their phone, but I digress.   The idea is this, the brewing company is trying to reassure that the customer is reassured by the people around, and break away from this need to be wound up with their phone.  I believe its a good step, a very shallow and unconvincing step, but a slight breach towards a culture that needs to recognize community no totally through technology but by necessary human interaction.  I know that greensandmachines might have a disagreement with it, but I still believe it is a worthy addition.

Those are my thoughts anyhow.

I hope you all have a great day.

SAT scores you and me

Personally, I think standardized tests are a bane to society as they limit the possibility of the divergent, ever changing personality and talents of an invidual, but understand their purpose because of the need to judge in order to define entrance.

People say they are better at one thing than another are willing to fail one thing in order to purely succeed at another.  This is not to say it is either a good or bad thing, but a happenstance that could snowball to a singularity of one talent rather than a multitude in order to culminate a diversity within a single person.  By focusing, you get a variety of groups that are specialized expertly, but at the same time one find themselves stuck in that specialization and does not take the possiblity that other studies comes to play.

This is the issue in which standardized tests come in.  Before they came in two flavors, whether you could read and quantitatively analyze (verbal and math separately).  Next they found out that the nation's writing ability is lacking, so on top of the latest ability to read and analyze, the SAT had to predict whether the student could organize one's thoughts verily to communicate to another sane human being.  In other words, could one's opinion on a specific subject be reflected clearly enough under stress to be analyzed and worked though.  This is a necessary talent in which students upon entering high studies must learn.  Quantitative analysis requires one to use the purest of logic to create formulas in with possibility within a set situation.  Verbal analysis requires one to take a a multitude of situations, translate, and be able to clearly identify the argument/problem one has.  These are two pursuits necessary internally, and relates to the translation and understanding within the mind.  The issue now is, how can one translate outside the mind, which is thoroughly harder than one may seem.  True a sane man, with sane tendencies can easily do both and convey information in a clear concise manner that allows the reader thorough knowledge on a specific argument.  However, with people like me, and engineers abound, this ability is not existent or easily found.   In a world that is growing ever more diverse, and ever more changing, the ability to organize one's thoughts quickly and under stress is extremely necessary, and is something I believe the SAT should reflect on.

The SAT is a basic standardized test meant to challenge up-and-coming scholars with the said ability to critically thing not only inward to understand the topic, but outward to express that understanding to a larger audience.  It should not be created to be easier, but meant to realize for the current working/teaching generation that the next generation will be fine and that their ability on this test will reflect that.  The fact that SAT's are eliminating it and dampening vocabulary...is worrisome and should be remarked on.

Truthfully, I did not do well in the verbal or essay sections, and my SAT was not above par according to typical Indian standards laid upon me.  I regret being a lazy ass and not actually enjoying learning as I do now.  I regret not trying my hardest to care about a subject like caring for a pet, willing to love as it it will love you in respect.  I regret not trying....but that almost makes me worried about whether the next generation will try or whether I'm pushing them to hard.   One can never tell.  However the fact is, the world is dark, hellish place willing to replace everyone easily.  We must strive to work together to help each other and improve constantly...never look back and dampen....but to harden and to grow through harder.  If we do that, I completely believe and have hope in the next generation.  Until then...I regret not having much yet.

...its Week 10

Holy mother of God, time is moving way too fast.  I officially will have to cut the browsing of imgur/roosterteeth/HAWP/"porn"/instagram along with not going on reddit entirely.  I just deleted instagram off my phone and I'm laying down the line on what to do.  I will post later today or later this week on how this progress will be like, but so far...it seems worrisome.  In any case, I hope all yee good day.  Be safe, and have fun.

UBIK

UBIK.  The unusual title is foreshadowing to the kind of story this plays out to be.  Philip K. Dick starts off this story by recognizing two kinds of people, psionics and anti-psionics.  Both have their respective industries, the latter trying to stop the former from forcibly interrogating or invading the mind spaces of human kind.  They are both at a tug of war, or rather a checks and balances with each other to try to maintain the order in keep the system maintained.  Industries have been built to capitalize on this happenstance.   With this era, there is also a term called half-life in which people who have been injured/died can have their mind and body preserved in order to speak again to the living in order to give advice etc.  These play crucial roles in our story for Philip K. Dick, just like the Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch uses the idea of half-life and psionic capabilities to play mind games and produce the feeling of uneasiness as one's mind is forcibly going through an experience unlike what he/she has been before.
With any drug trip, one confuses reality with fantasy and questions both using basic logic in order to come back to any sense of order within one's surroundings.  However, when the world around you feels so real, but completely wrong at the same time, there are too many possible factors that could hurt the credibility of one's choice.  Dick fully exploits this in this wonderfully intense story of mental exploration and deterioration .  As always, the book starts off slow in order to encapsulate the tedium of day to day life and the politics and technology of the time, but gathers an intense speed in order to describe what is happening.  Just with any mental novel, the climax did not occur with action happening, but with the main protagonist going through his though process to figure out what is happening.  For once, the idea of psionic abilities sounded necessary in order to bring out the plot of the book, but again could have been replaced with another industry etc.  The main focus is the idea of half-life and should be noted extensively as one reads through the novel.  The idea is impeccable, but brings so many more questions than it answers.

I completely recommend this book to any fans of sci-fi, and can't wait to start on my next novel Martian Time-Slip by Philip K. Dick.

HAPPY READINGS.

You Can Brew Beer in College too

On many a day, finding good beer is like going to take out.  You have to go out of your way to find what you like, pay lots of money to try out new things, and spend more just to get more of your favorites.  However, I have never really been accustomed to trying to make beer at home until I started reading You can Brew Beer In College too.  This simple $2.50 recipe guide and beginner engineering toolbox of beer brewing encapsulated the DIY spirit of traditional cooking into things I would love to be intoxicated to.  It amazed me how easy it could be to produce a huge amounts of delicious beer without creating too much of an initial dent to my wallet.  I have tried many of the beers advertised and nothing has disappointing me in the least.  Every beer, wine, and cider this man has created was delicious enough to buy many bottles off of.  I could not recommend this more to any DIY beer brewer and any future brewer there.

The Lego Movie

That moment where you feel like, can laugh at every joke, can be giddy about every reference, can be truly happy for the whole hour and a half of pure brilliance.  That is the Lego movie.

This is a movie I have been excited to see when it first started showing trailers last year.  I was bragging how excited I was to see it to everyone I knew and some of them told me it was a bad idea because it was a February release.  No, I denied everything, and I was still stuck on thinking it was being awesome...and it delivered, with so much more underlying beauty and depth that I didn't know was allowable.

At first the hilarity comes from off-beat hilarity from prolonged takes, subtle changes in sounds, small changes to famous lines, and clear contrasts, but what sets this apart from other movies is the idea of creating creativity.  After everything is set and done, and everyone enjoys the cameos, the intrinsic hilarity of the main character, Emmett, being a complete dolt in parts, it raises this amazing idea that everyone has the possibility of doing great things.  Likely you'll get this due to the idea of the "growth the hero" plot you'll see in the trailer, but the movie breaks beyond that and hits the heart of every person in the audience in a way that not many children movies do.

For instance, Toy story deals with many of the same ideas of creativity and age, but at the same time, Lego is almost timeless because of the idea of the block.  The block is what the maker makes of it at the time in which it is given.  While Toy Story focuses on how Andy ages and how the toy's are slowly moving to extinction, Lego understands that fun knows no age and that creativity happens to everyone.  I love this movie so much, and could not smile or laugh any more than I could during this experience.  I am happy being with the people who make me happy seeing a movie that made me extremely glad to be awesome.  Everything is awesome, and everything is cool when you're part of a team.

Thank you

P.S..

OH MY GOD THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is out, 1. I can't wait...2. they're playing "hooked on a feeling" a song I have been addicted to for weeks prior and glad they used...3.  i need to read the comic...HAVE A GREAT ONE

One million playing Pokemon

There have been very few instances in which I have cried purely to do joy or laughter.  One instance that faintly rings a bell and most recently has been watching Barney destroy Guile on saltybet.  In one moment, I saw Barney losing ferociously to a overbearing, "sonic boom" giving Guile, but then the screen goes black, the "I love you" song pops up with Barney's face in the foreground, the screen goes black again, and the next thing you see is Guile...dead with no health on the ground.  Why that is funny?  Because once a person has spent over 12 hours in a computer lab doing the most tedious data crunching and writing, anything seems funny to death.

This time was Twitch Plays Pokemon, where everyone signed up to twitch can write down an action on the chat box, and then that action will be displayed an enacted by the main character in the game Pokemon Red.  So if I signed up and typed in "down", sometime in the future, the character will see I wrote down and then move down.  Now, imagine that, but with everyone around the world typing in responses like that.  Now imagine that constantly going, 24 hours a day.  Right now, the game has been going on for about 5-6 days, and they have received 4 or 5 of the 8 badges.  They are right now in Saffron city doing something insane.  However, the concept of watching hundreds of people with no communication with each other shouting out orders to a single character was just too funny.  Watching the chaos of a million players playing a single player game like stock market junkees on Wall street yelling out orders.   The idea was hilarious and seeing the commands streaming down endlessly in a near chaotic pattern, but simultaneously organized enough to not only bypass the initial part of the game, but succeeding in winning 5 badges throughout the game was mind blowing.  It brings along this idea that radiolab once brought up, which was that the group might be more intelligent than the single being.  That might not be true in this case as it might take a single person one day to complete a game that is taking a million nearly 6 days to do, but the fact that any progresss has been achieved is amazing.

To this minute, I am still laughing at the consistencies, moments, and actions that occur in this game.  It still surprises me, and still puts me on edge.  Thank you.

Dumb Starbucks

Dumb Starbucks.  A knockoff of a knockoff knocking off knock offs, this store decided to parody a company in order to get profits.  This is an idea I like and dislike because its a kind of double edged sword.  In one case, I'm would like to support Dumb Starbucks because I think Starbucks serves coffee with the same care and affection as a mother bear towards a salmon.  If it's not apparent with my analogy, I extremely dislike Starbucks because they make the most mediocre coffee out of the other coffee places I normally go to.  If Dumb Starbucks makes better coffee then I salute them.  However, Dumb Starbucks is riding on the coattails of Starbucks.  Like a sled being pulled my dogs, Dumb Starbucks has limited itself to being only less than successful than Starbucks for what it is doing.

I find the whole naming thing annoying, pesky, and low.  I only hope their coffee is better than their name.

Week 5...It's been awhile

First off, I'd like to apologize for not responding last week.  That was my own irresponsibility and won't happen again.

Its now...Week 5.

Lately, the lay off from reddit has allowed me to be able to focus a little better, but again its tipping the scale into other things such as facebook and youtube.  I go on them far more than before, and it has become something of internal distraction to get away from the tedium of life even though I only subscribe it as just tedium.  The realization that one must make up for the time lost and must do what one can with the time that is given constantly reverberates in my mind, but rarely does anything come about in a meaningful way.

This is my second to last quarter of my last year in college, and the beginning of this rift of both remembrance and recognition of the end comes in, and I'm questioning many things as I slowly walk towards my edge of the cliff.  I'm questioning whether I can still talk to the people I care about, people I have grown with, hung out with, had beers with, seen movies with, gossiped, and chilled with.  With facebook gone, one loses a huge portion of communication, one is losing pretty much a huge portion of random communication.   It's still getting to me, but lately...I have been a little happier.

I don't know why, but I'm guessing I'm might be talking to new people, talking to old people, and just being around people who are nice to me and whom I like to be nice to.  The conversation never stopped being hilarious, the attitude never drooped, and there was never a time in which I was bored because I couldn't go off of something I had learned earlier on.  This was one of the worries I had when stopping reddit...that I would get less interesting and be less interesting to talk to...but that isn't the case.  My best friend in the whole world said that reddit made him more interesting and that he got to reserach using reddit, but personally I find that not true in my case.  In so much that, it wasn't reddit that made me intersting, but me that made reddit interesting.  In many weirdly enlightening ways, it was me pouring interest into something that made it more interesting, not the other way around.  Maybe its our choices that determine what makes life worthwhile in that case, and this fantastical view of a destiny in which our views/goals/choices/happiness fall under.  In many ways I'm still confused, and I'm still on a path wondering where I will find happiness, but maybe it might be the better question as to what I'm willing to focus on.  That whatever I focus on will make me happy.

I don't know the answers to many questions, but I hope to know more and more as I go through life limiting myself.  This is the halfway point to end the 10 week promise.

I promise you, I have kept my word so far...and I will do so till the end.  Have a good week...this one will be tougher than the rest.

Week 3

Hello everyone who may  read this blog post.  This almost feels like my last will and testament overall.  In any case, I wish to report on how my week 3 went.  Besides the slip ups and issues I had with school, I'm more or less realizing how much reddit has controlled what I do with my free time.  In a sense, by eliminating it, it feels like as though reddit was a necessary evil.  The way to describe it would be that reddit, youtube, facebook, and its complimentary websites were part of a scale, and by eliminating reddit off that scale, the scale readjusted.  Now primarily, facebook and youtube control my time wasted and now are forced to be my constant sources of entertainment.  This worries me, as rather I realize how bad having such distractions have been, and worrisome as how deep the roots of their control have been me.  Its interesting to understand that I may have to arrive to a point where my interest must rely on the newly formed hobbies I must form immediately.  I decided to try  list...but I'm worried how that list might go, so I'm gonna try to put them down here.  Please, comment and describe how your list would be.

List:
-Programming
- Take up violin and/or trumpet
-Traveling/hiking ( going and walking -_-)
- Reading (this is actually extremely tough for me)
- Exercising
- Calling, scheduling, and hanging out with others
- Start to date again (this is another post all together, but it will be done, probably next week)
- Math
- Farming
-Mechanical engineering
- News
- Gymnastics/dancing
- Personal Experiments

This list depicts how exactly I was thinking on what to do and how to do it.  I need to start loving to learn again because truthfully, I have lost that love awhile ago.  I don't know when my laziness took over my love to learn, or rather whether that relation was always there.  I'm worried that I will never love to learn again.  However, like any relationship, it takes time, effort, trust, and communication.  These are definitely things I must redo and must take time to understand.  2 more weeks, and then begins the true trials of suffering for me.  I will come back with more details.  For now, I'm still 19 days without reddit and every day is every more harder.  I will get back to you...Good bye...and good luck.

FIELD TRIP : Russian River Brewery

Yesterday, I decided to go on a small road trip with my ChemE friend, who owns the blog Greens and Machines and his roommate to the "Russian River Brewery" in Santa Clara, California.  I didn't know it was a brewery at first.  My friend said "Let's go to the Russian River", so I thought "Okay, I should bring swim trunks and extra pair of clothes".  When asking him whether I needed such objects, he said "wtf no", so I just wore some normal bar clothes and decided to get ready to drink.  Later I found out that the "Russian River" was code for a brewery that made one of my favorite beers "Pliny the Elder".  After about an hour (more like 30-45 minutes) of road tripping thanks to "S" and plenty of old fashions tunes such as "She's a Brick House", we made it to good old-fashions Santa Clara.

Amazingly, the line looked ridiculous, but we stayed on it knowingly because it was going to be worth it.  After about 15 minutes, we were able to get in.  I got a pint of "Row 2, Hill 66", my friend gets a half pint of "Shadow of a Doubt", and S gets "Blind Pig I.P.A".  We all drink while having slight jokes with stranger about how ridiculous people are with their Pliny the Elders.  Then I decidedly become one of those ridiculous people alone with S and get a "Growler" which is a pretty large bottle filled with Pliny the elder.

After making that hilarious mistakes such as that, we decided to check out the local bookstore to find books for my favorite author..and fail to do so (Philip K. Dick), we found out our table is ready.

We get a sample, pizza, wings, and "beer bites"...it was all delicious and I want more...I'm still hungry...mother of god everything was a blur afterwards...I'm still hungry..NOW FOR MORE FOOD

Week 2 - the Social Media experiment

So as of January 1st, I have decided to have the New Years Resolution of not going on reddit for a year.  For the next 37/38 weeks I will discuss the tribulations, the weirdness, and the depression that goes along with having no distraction given by reddit.  By week 10, I will stop browsing imgur/HAWP/roosterteeth/instagram/"porn".  By week 20 which will be around June 15th, I will up the score by going no youtube and facebook.  This is a personal experiment as I go on to see what happens when a man clearly addicted to internet social media and ADD stops that social medium.  I have no started a bet, and even some close friends said to use moderation or not to go cold turkey.  I will have to disagree in order to try out my personal experiment.  The only thing thing I will not stop is Pandora (for music) and snapchat (because screw you).

As of week 2, I have noticed that the lack of reddit has indeed made me question some habits I have had over the course of the previous years.  It has made me question some things like "what am I doing with my life" and "where the fuck am I" a lot more.  I have noticed some habitual things forming and the fact that most of the sites I go on is due to reddit or as a condition from reddit.   Personally, I have noticed that I have relied a lot on NSFW from reddit for "my own personal reasons", but now I have had to go on the "old" sites to do my bidding.  In any case, I have found that this is going to be one of the hardest years for me in many ways, and I might as well make it harder on myself because that is who I am.  Its the small steps that make the greatest leaps towards enlightenment...hopefully my small steps will be deemed worthy.  I truly am scared about what will happen as I have noticed breaks in my psyche just as of week 2...I know it's silly to be worried about such trivial things like reddit, porn, or even facebook, but I'm starting to realize that I have used many of these social mediums to feel worthy or to feel happy or to feel like I'm a part of a group.  I feel like I will lose connection to a lot more people as time moves on because of the constant connection I had with the social media of today.  It was nice talking to random middle school people or to old highschool friends, saying "High Five" at random in my chat windo and seeing how to reconnect, but that ability will soon be gone.  Slowly, it will all be gone...In any case, this experiment is going to be intense.  I will post every week to show my progress, thoughts, and any mental issues I have.  Whether I'm using you as a therapist or not is up to you.  Thank you for being there.

An Apology for a Moment of Forgetfulness

Sorry those who read this blog.  I'm sorry for kind of failing you guys in hopes for the next book in the series, and I really wish my stupidity would have alleviated what happened, but the fact is, I forgot to bring a book on my vacation to read.  So next week onwards, I will try to continue my stride and read at least 50-100 pages a day of a new book and try to read a new book a week going into the school year.

I hope you had a great New Years Eve and New Year.  Be careful, be safe, and have fun.

Tunnel in the Sky by Heinlein, and next on the list

Hello again,

Finished the book a tad late due to vacation timing, and the off chance of reading could only be done at around 12 to 3 am.  However, the book is over and I'm at the moment trying to find another to replace it.

Heinlein's Tunnel in the Sky...was awkwardly disappointing.  The story basis itself on the fact that a group of kids that join a class go into a new world as a final exam, 10 days of survival.  People can die, animals from alternative planets can exist, and there is always the possibility of backstabbing.  However, this book feels more like the polar opposite of Lord of the Flies, where any arguments were truthfully petty.  The kids are definitely more mature being at around 16-25 years old (being from highschool to college), but I would imagine the impact of finding out that one could not go back home might be more substantial than what was depicted by Heinlein.  Imagining my homeland, my family, my crushes, my disappointments, my goals, my hopes, my dreams, all disappear in an instant, starting with the ultimate blank state is probably one of the hardest impacts ever whether for good or bad.  I feel as though none of my pertaining knowledge base would be useful in a survival situation, and I feel like the psychological impact is underscored by that fact that these kids are hyperintelligent/government makers that build  society within months.  No.  I have seen DayZ long enough and witnessed the true backstabbing of humanity to know that finding resources, finding supplies, and doing everyting with strangers in hope that cooperation spurs with the inclusion of guns and knives is nearly impossible.  It is almost like a slightly lighter hearted Watership Down in this case.

There are moments in the book, where I feel like custom and the times probably effected how Heinlein looked at this crises.  I mean marriage and baby-making was considered in formality and would be done by "mayors" and honeymoon-suites are made...yes...this is a thing when you are dropped into a new environments for a month...For some reason, it doesn't suit my notions of what happens in long-term survival.   There are moments where I hoped certain characters would be together...and it never happend (which is kind of teenage-girl-dramaticism, but I mean the signs could not be more apparent), , and the awkwardness involved in coed circumstance in sci-fi was obvious in the perspective of the prestigious author.

The book was not as impactful and did not delve much into the psychological aspect of happenstance, but I feel like this idea could be made seamlessly into a movie.

Beautiful, but shallow...creative, but lacking...I hoped for more, but it's okay.  I hope his other works will be better.

Next...I will say so in a bit...I have no idea, and I forgot to bring some books with me thinking it'd take longer.  I HOPE YOU ALL THEBEST...good bye.
